- —Applicator-only or steam-tunnel configuration
- —Bottle and sleeve dimension matching
- —Equipment selection and project support through KOZMAG
Choose the Scope of Your Sleeve Labeling System
The applicator places the sleeve onto the container. A separate shrink stage applies the heat needed to fit the film around it. Start with the part of the process your project needs.
Sleeve Applicator
A sleeve application station for projects where the shrink stage is already part of the line or will be specified separately. The bottle, sleeve dimensions and handoff to the shrink station determine the configuration.
Selection focus: Existing shrink equipment; bottle and sleeve format.
Discuss an Applicator ConfigurationShrink Sleeve Labeling Machine with Steam Tunnel
A sleeve applicator followed by a steam shrink tunnel. This configuration brings the sleeve application and shrinking stages into the same equipment discussion, with electrical and steam requirements considered separately.
Selection focus: New shrink station; available steam and electrical supply.
Discuss a Steam-Tunnel ConfigurationApplication Fit for Cosmetic and Personal Care Bottles
We help plan sleeve labeling for cosmetic, skincare and personal care bottle packaging. Evaluate the finished pack as a combination of bottle, closure, sleeve and artwork, rather than choosing by product name alone.
For a new bottle or a revised pack design, the intended sleeve area and the pack's response to the shrink process need to be reviewed before configuration selection.
Bottle and Sleeve Specifications
Use the following applicator specification as a starting point for the steam-tunnel configuration. Bottle shape, film behavior and required sleeve position remain part of equipment selection.
| Parameter | Reference applicator specification | Selection meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Applicator speed | 100 bottles/min | Applicator rating; finished-line output depends on the complete process. |
| Container diameter | 30–85 mm | Compare the bottle profile at the sleeved area, not only its maximum diameter. |
| Sleeve length | 40–240 mm | Match the cut sleeve length to the intended coverage and position. |
| Sleeve thickness | 0.035–0.082 mm | Thickness is one selection condition; film material and shrink behavior also matter. |
A Size Match Is the Starting Point
A bottle within the diameter range may still need a different handling arrangement because of its shape or stability. Likewise, a film within the thickness range does not automatically establish material compatibility. Review the bottle drawing, sleeve dimensions and intended finished appearance together.
Plan Sleeve Application and Shrinking Together
Process overview for the steam-tunnel configuration. Conveyor interfaces, equipment spacing and the final layout are defined for the project.
How the Steam-Tunnel Configuration Works
Apply the sleeve. The applicator places the sleeve onto the container at the intended position.
Shrink the sleeve. The container passes through the steam shrink stage, where heat shrinks the film around it.
Continue downstream. The sleeved container moves to the next handling step through the agreed conveyor interface.
Avoid a Gap Between Machine Speed and Line Output
The applicator's 100 bottles/min rating does not establish the output of a complete line. Bottle presentation, sleeve handling, shrink conditions and the equipment before and after the machine all affect finished throughput. Compare the complete operating sequence when setting the production target.
Include the Shrink Station in Utility Planning
A steam tunnel needs an appropriate steam supply as well as electrical power. Treat the utility requirements as part of configuration selection, rather than an installation detail to address after ordering.
Reference utilities for the steam-tunnel configuration shown:
| Utility | Sleeve applicator | Steam shrink tunnel |
|---|---|---|
| Electrical supply | AC 220 V, 50/60 Hz | AC 220 V, 50/60 Hz |
| Electrical power | 3 kW | 0.75 kW |
| Steam consumption | — | 35 kg/h |
| Steam supply pressure (reference) | — | 5 kg/cm² |
The tunnel's 0.75 kW is its electrical requirement; the energy needed to generate steam is additional. Steam-source provision, pressure conditions, the pressure measurement basis and connections must be reviewed for the installation. Steam-generation equipment is a separate scope item to specify.
Review My Line ConfigurationA Practical Guide to Sleeve Labeling Selection
Should I Choose Shrink Sleeves or Adhesive Labels?
The choice starts with the intended package appearance and labeling process. A shrink sleeve is placed over the container and then shrunk to fit. A pressure-sensitive label is applied to the surface using adhesive.
| Labeling approach | Process requirement | Selection focus |
|---|---|---|
| Shrink sleeve labeling | Sleeve application followed by a suitable shrink stage | Sleeve coverage, bottle profile, film behavior and heat exposure. |
| Pressure-sensitive labeling | Adhesive label application | Label position, surface condition, label shape and adhesive suitability. |
Choose the process around the actual bottle and artwork. A sleeve system should not be specified as a direct replacement for an adhesive labeler without reviewing the changed process requirements.
Does the Thickness Range Prove My Film Will Run?
No. The 0.035–0.082 mm range describes thickness for the reference applicator. Film material, sleeve dimensions, shrink characteristics and the container's response to heat also affect suitability. A thickness match alone does not confirm the complete bottle-and-sleeve combination.
Can the Same Setup Handle Body Sleeves and Short Cap Bands?
Do not assume that one setup covers both. Sleeve position, cut length, bottle neck shape and cap dimensions change the selection conditions. The reference configuration shown here has a sleeve length range of 40–240 mm; a shorter band falls outside that range. Body sleeves and cap bands therefore need to be assessed against their actual dimensions and intended position.
What Matters When Connecting to an Existing Packaging Line?
Conveyor height and direction define the mechanical handoff. Bottle spacing and stability affect presentation to the applicator, while the shrink station must fit the available utilities and downstream handling path. These conditions matter alongside the target production rate.
We coordinate the sleeving requirement with the surrounding filling, capping and conveying steps. The equipment scope and connection details are defined around the existing line or new-line layout.
Equipment Selection and Project Support Through KOZMAG
We supply cosmetic processing and packaging equipment with one point of contact for equipment selection, project communication and after-sales support. A sleeve labeling project can be discussed as an individual machine, an upgrade to an existing line or part of a new packaging line.
What We Bring to Your Project
- •Scope around your existing equipment. Discuss the applicator on its own or together with the steam shrink station, according to the process you need to add.
- •Selection around the package. Bottle geometry, sleeve dimensions, target output and site conditions guide the configuration discussion.
- •Coordination across neighboring steps. Filling, capping, labeling and conveying requirements can be reviewed within the same packaging project.
Support Defined Around the Project
| Project stage | Our role |
|---|---|
| Equipment selection | Review the product, bottle, sleeve requirements, production target and site conditions. |
| Configuration and interfaces | Coordinate equipment scope, technical questions and connections to the surrounding process. |
| Installation and use | Arrange installation, commissioning, operation training and after-sales support within the agreed project scope. |
Installation location, support method, training scope, spare parts and warranty terms are agreed for the project.
Documentation Matched to the Equipment Scope
Documentation should identify the selected applicator and, where included, the steam tunnel. Operating instructions, electrical documentation, installation information and spare-parts details should be agreed in the equipment scope, including the required language and the configuration each document covers.
Where trial or acceptance records are agreed, they should identify the bottle, sleeve, setup and operating rate covered.
